So I decided that I was going to do the Couch to 5K Challenge with the idea that I would run in my town's annual 5K Run. I am quite excited about running it. The Teacher wants to run one before then, but I think the one in September is the one I will be training for. The Teacher also wants to do a half marathon and then a full marathon and well, I am just not sure I want to do that. You never know though, I could change my mind. For now, I am just going to do the 5K.
So I started on Sunday and after my run, I was exhausted and kinda sore. I felt very out of shape. On Tuesday since we had dinner at my parents house, The Teacher and I ran together. (Normally, I run, then he runs so that one of us is with the kids) It was different to run with him. He takes longer strides and goes faster than me, but it was nice to have someone to talk to during the walking parts. On Tuesday, my calves were cramping and very much in pain. Then, I did my run today. Now, it is very very windy here today and it proved to be difficult to run into the wind. However, I felt really good after my run. Yes I was sweaty and gross, but I didn't feel downrighted exhausted like I did at the beginning of the week.
Now next week involves more running and less walking, so we will see how I fair there, but I am really going in there with the mindset that I can accomplish it.
